Southeast Montana / Northeast Wyoming
High-Pressure (HP) Gas Well Pad Design in Powder River Basin

PROJECT BRIEF

Our team was hired in the Powder River Basin, a geological structural basin located in southeast Montana and northeast Wyoming, to design and construct a hp gas well pad. The Powder River Basin is the largest coal-producing region in the United States and is a major producer of natural gas and coal-bed methane.

The well pad consisted of a variety of corrosion resistant steel flowlines, storage vessels, and pressure components that require periodic inspection and maintenance and require important regulations and testing requirements.

SERVICE:

  • Oil & Gas

SOLUTIONS

Our team provided process, mechanical, and piping engineering and design to install well pad surface facilities for the new hp gas well. Equipment for the project included sand trap, three-phase separator, tri ethylene glycol (TEG) dehydration unit, heater treater, storage tanks, and utility equipment such as instrument/fuel gas design, LP Flare Tip with an open pipe tip and HP Flare Tip with a sonic tip.

RESULTS

Incorporating this design on the Powder River Basin HP Gas Well Pad, consolidates an environmentally sensitive project, helps reduce production time and costs, eases drilling cycle time, decreases the surface footprint, and minimizes truck traffic.
